An article in newest issue of TRADITIONAL BUILDING about restoring the lamp on the Statue of Liberty.

The original lamp was moved to a museum underneath the Statue and replaced with a replica. The original had considerable work done to it, but not to make it look like new.....replace broken glass, clean the metal work that surrounded the flame...Rambusch Studio, a very old stained glass studio, was involved with the glass....the torch is 16 feet tall, and weighs 3,600 lbs. Apparently it was taken apart in 3 sections, and then reassembled in it's new home, the Museum. If you google for "repair the Statue of Liberty lamp" there are several sites worth reading.
