A client of ours has asked us to remove a 10' x 6' panel, that we restored 11 years ago. (It's currently in 7 sections in a new sussman frame) Removal for storage is due to home being sold. They don't want to sell the stained glass. The panels will be relocated to another residence for storage until..... The Sussman frame will also be stored. The largest panels are 6' x 3' and 5' x 3' WE're building custom crates for each section. Since this may be long-term, What type of padding would you recommend to line the crates? What other things should we consider? Has anyone had a similar project in their studio?

The panels may be in crates for a few years, so we're looking for something that will not degrade and ruin the stained glass. Rather protect the panels. Some painted sections - not alot. Some plating and drapery glass throughout. All too often we hear of panels that have been crated for years, and they're in bad condition - possibly bad when they were put in, but these are in excellent condition now - and hope that when they're liberated, they only need to be reinstalled into their sussman frame. Thanks in advance for all suggestions.
